The Sycamore RV. park entrance was hidden by railroad tracks behind grain elevators, with a small sign ‘camping’ one street prior to the actual park entrance. This sigh lured the Smitanic into the grain elevators .... luckily there was plenty of room to loop around the back lot and on into the correct entrance.
The rig was assigned a large back-in site with plenty of room for the planned gatherings. There was even a tennis court which of course Theresa volunteered to help mark for pickleball. The manager was not that excited about that offer. The cool and rainy weather was not conducive to any thought of play anyhow.
The park also had walking trails that looped around the 2 park lakes that also had a nice beach area. It took 3 loops to rack up the daily step goal.
Two nights were planned to meet up with the local Leeneys.
The first set was Kevin’s distant cousin, Mickey her daughter in law Stephanie and grandson Carl As well as a once removed cousin Emma with her son Michael and sister, Gracie. Hamburgers and hot dogs were put on the grill as everyone caught up on life updates from more than 5 years since the Smitanic was sunk in the yard . Kiehl was dialed up on FaceTime to partake in the festivities as well.
The next night the owners of the infamous Leeney Farm, Tammy, Ed and their youngest son, Jacob were treated to a NC pulled pork meal as all caught up on grand babies, travels and other family members. Kevin even connected his sister, Torreen, and mom, Glorianna, on a FaceTime call to say hi & see these distant faces!
It was a treat to see everyone and catch up. Promises were made for less time to pass before the next visit!
